Curvalon®, using a patented approach, has perfected this bendable system. Individual ribs of particle board, foam, or other desired substrate, are evenly spaced apart; and attached to a layer of latex-impregnated paper. A suitable semi-rigid decorative surface is then laminated to the latex paper – while in a flat position.
The relatively thick layer of latex-impregnated paper just beneath the surface laminate, moves enough to smooth the differing angles around the bend into a continuous curve. This allows the semi-rigid laminate to develop a uniformly-supported change in direction without being subjected to severe stress, and possible breakage. |
